How to search by keyword

  1. Open search by clicking the bar in the top navigation on desktop, or tap the magnifying glass icon on mobile.

  2. Type in a keyword or phrase (like “brutalist architecture” or “warm neutrals”).

  3. Press enter to view your results.

How to search by color

  1. Select the color picker icon (🎨) on the right side of the search bar.

  2. Choose a color using the picker, or enter a hex code (e.g. #5c66ff).

  3. Cosmos will show elements that match the selected color.

How to visual search

  1. On desktop only, click the image icon on the right side of the search bar.

  2. Upload a photo or drag & drop an image directly.

  3. Cosmos will analyze the image and return similar results.

You can also right-click an image on Cosmos desktop and click Visual Search to trigger a search result with that element.

Combining searches

You can combine search filters to refine your results faster. Try:

  • Keyword + color. For example, you could search for “ceramic vases” and filter by cool-toned blue for more precise results.

  • Visual + keyword. Upload a reference image and add a keyword (like “home office”) to focus the search.

  • Visual + color. Upload an **image and use the color filter together to find elements that match the tone.

Search filters

After you’ve started a search, you can add search filters to refine results further. You can filter by type, order, and source:

  • By type: narrow your search down to images, videos, links, notes, or products.

  • By order: sort by relevance (default), latest, oldest, popular (based on connections), or random.

  • By source: choose All Cosmos (platform‑wide), Your Cosmos (your saved content), or Following (profiles and clusters you follow).

Contextual Search

Cosmos search is especially useful on your own profile and clusters. You can use it to surface your own content whenever you need it.

Use contextual search when you want to:

  • Quickly find elements you saved in the past.

  • Search inside a specific cluster to pull up something you remember adding.

  • Stay focused by narrowing results to your personal visual library.

To search your own content, open the profile or cluster you want to search and use the search bar as usual. Results will show only content from the space you’re in.

Tip: You can use contextual search on other people’s profiles and clusters too — an intentional way to explore curated content.
